Light and Laughter Playhouse is a play-based school inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach. We believe childhood is a time to explore, wonder, and truly enjoy the process of learning. Our curriculum is child-led, emergent, and project-based, which means we follow the children’s interests and allow their curiosity to guide our days. We value the time children spend discovering, creating, and thinking deeply, focusing on the journey rather than a final product.
In the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the environment is known as the “third teacher,” and we hold this idea close to heart. Our classrooms are calm, inviting, and thoughtfully prepared to spark curiosity. Each space is intentionally designed with the children in mind — free of clutter, rich with possibility, and open to imagination. Materials are carefully chosen to be developmentally appropriate and beautifully organized to encourage creativity, exploration, and meaningful play.
Community is at the heart of our school. We deeply value the relationships built between children, families, and educators. Our school feels like home, and our community feels like family. Children learn and grow through collaboration, building strong relationships with their peers through play and shared experiences. Our educators serve as gentle guides and co-learners — listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and discovering answers alongside the children.
We believe every child is born capable, competent, and full of potential. It is our privilege to support their growth in all areas, nurturing confident, compassionate, and curious learners every step of the way.
At Light and Laughter Playhouse, we serve children from 3 months to 5 years old in a nurturing environment that invites them to wonder, explore, and seek answers to their questions. Through caring relationships and meaningful experiences, we build a foundation of compassion, imagination, and critical thinking while cultivating a joy of learning that supports our children throughout their lives.
